About Me

I’m Sam Mellors a Games Design student at Staffordshire University with a passion for creating interactive and engaging gameplay experiences. While I enjoy exploring various aspects of game development, I specialise in level design, game mechanics, and combat systems—areas where I’ve developed strong practical knowledge through both academic and personal projects.

My development work is primarily focused in Unreal Engine, where I’m highly proficient in Blueprint scripting. I’m currently expanding my skillset to include C# for Unity development, and I have a solid working knowledge of Python, which I often use for scripting and prototyping.

I take a player-first, systems-driven approach to design—focusing on balance, clarity, and the overall gameplay loop. I work well both independently and as part of a team, and I thrive in environments that encourage iteration, collaboration, and creativity.

I’m seeking opportunities where I can contribute meaningfully to gameplay systems and level design, while continuing to grow as a designer and developer.
